Members of the STAR Team are all expert divers that have undergone rigorous testing and education. All divers have several hundred dives or more, and are all deep water certified. Many have technical skills, and all are capable of working in extreme conditions such as overhead environments, cold water, limited visibility, and in environmentally hazardous situations. The team is also capable of being deployed in support of homeland security roles.
